A new, state-of-the-art headquarters and a new life for an ageing campus
IRG was the owner and developer of Goodyear’s new world headquarters in Akron, Ohio. IRG was tasked with the development of the new world headquarters and parking structure, as well as with the revitalization of certain other buildings on Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company’s 500 acre campus. IRG and its partners have already completed the new 639,000 square foot headquarters and improvements to Goodyear’s campus in Akron. IRG now plans to begin renovation of a number of buildings in the former Goodyear campus to create modern office space, housing, a theater, and a hotel.
In nearby North Canton, Ohio, IRG is also re-developing the Hoover Vacuum Company’s former headquarters on its 88 acre site. Once completed, the site will have high-end apartments, retail space, and office space. Construction on this site has already commenced, and is expected to be completed in 2015.
These projects, funded in part by EB-5 funding, have been engines for job creation in the entire area.
